Christine Thompson – Director of Children’s Ministry (KIDZ City)
I have the best job in the church! I am the Director of Children’s ministry. I LOVE that I ‘get to’ interact with kids and develop kids ministry leaders. In 1990, I was invited to serve with a 4th grade Sunday school class. I said ‘NO way!’, but tried it anyway. It was through serving in children’s ministry that my biblical foundation was laid and my passion to share Jesus with kids was fueled.
I ‘get to’ oversee and manage all aspects of our children’s ministry, from infant-6th grade and a special needs ministry. I also have the privilege to be the director of our Hope For Kids ministry; teaching kids to share their faith with other kids. I believe fun and being real are the key ingredients to learning. loving, trusting and falling in love with Jesus.
My Family: I have been married to my husband Nate, for 28 years. I have 3 creative and amazing kids; Andrew-25, Bekah-21 and Isaiah-17. They are the loves of my life! Our favorite place to be together is at the beach, any beach. I enjoy reading, drinking good coffee and eating dark chocolate; everyday if I can.
Favorite Kidz City Story: My favorite Kidz City story was a student who told their parents that they didn’t want to go to Disneyland if they had to miss going to church at Crossroads!
Molly Pine – KIDZ City Administrative Assistant
I am the KIDZ City Administrative Assistant. It is my love and passion to teach children and students about the unconditional love of Jesus Christ. As the administrative assistant to our children’s ministry, I am able to pursue my passion for kids through coordinating events, helping with technical issues and support, communicating with partners in our ministry, and ensuring child and student safety through our application and background check process.
My Family: I have been married to my husband, Steve, for seven years. I am a step-mom to two wonderful kids, Baylee (15) and Brandon (13) and mom to two boys of our own, Jameson (6) and Maxwell (5).
I love spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy being outdoors, taking trips to the mountains or the beach with our two dogs, watching baseball, hiking, reading, and anything that involves s’mores.
Favorite Kidz City Story: One of my favorite Kidz City stories is about a sweet Kindergarten boy. We had created a stoplight craft that read, ‘GO!’ on the green light. The lesson took place shortly after Easter and encouraged the children to ‘Go and Tell!’ others about Jesus. While he was sitting in the waiting area of the bank, he had the courage to share his stoplight and the story to follow with an adult waiting near him. My heart melted with joy and encouragement, knowing that a craft he made at Sunday school the week before would be used as a tool to share the Gospel. God is so good, and He uses anyone, including children, to be his messenger.
Mark Bejsovec – Route 56 Coordinator
I have worked in ministry for 13 years primarily with young people between the ages of 10 – 18. God has clearly shown me that I belong with preteens (5th and 6th students). I love how they are eager to listen and learn about God, the Bible and how it all applies to their lives. I knew when I entered ministry that God would use my life to make an impact on others. What I didn’t know, is how much preteens would impact my life. I love preteens and sharing my life with them.
Family: My wife Denise and I are high school sweethearts. Denise is the love of my life. We exchanged our vows on May 13, 1995. We have four children; Hailey 20, Jordan 16, Tristan 10, and Tayton 8. Our family’s favorite spot to visit is Santa Cruz and we visit several times a year. We love the sun, beach, people and boardwalk atmosphere.
Favorite student story: I was approached by a mom who was beaming with joy about a week after her son attended our Winter Jam outreach event in January 2018. This mom shared that her son approached her that night with tears in his eyes. He told her that he had asked Jesus into his heart and that he really understood that he has been saved! That story of this boy’s heart affected me in a deep way.
Bronwyn Callahan – Elementary Curriculum Coordinator
I am the KIDZ City Elementary Coordinator. I truly love working with kids and helping them on their path to Jesus Christ. Helping our kids in their walk of faith has been a blessing. As the Elementary Coordinator, I put together the lesson plans for our students, organize activities for them to do with their leaders, am responsible for scheduling and managing our Elementary team, recruiting new team members, and, assisting KIDZ City team members and families during weekend services.
My Family: I have been married to my husband Eric for nine amazing years and we have an eight-year-old daughter named Ryleigh.
Family has always been a huge focus for me. I love spending time and just having fun with family and friends. Our family has always loved animals and being outdoors. I also love music, painting and photography. We live on a mini ranch and have, 2 miniature goats, 6 ducks, 6 cats, 2 dogs, 6 birds (1 Cockatiel, 1 Sun Conure, 1 Rose Breasted Cockatoo, 2 Eclectus and 1 Macaw.) When I am not out with our critters, I am usually hanging out with my family watching movies, sports, or painting. My daughter and I paint rocks and hide them all over Manteca with the hopes they will be found and brighten someone’s day.
Favorite KIDZ City Story: There are so many stories I could tell of amazing things that have happened in KIDZ City with our students! One of my favorite things is to see the kids engaged in the lessons and have fun learning about The Good News. It’s an amazing thing to see them learn about God, what God’s word says and then implement it into their everyday lives. Another amazing thing is to see the kids grow in their faith and relationships with their leaders, it’s so fantastic to see them get excited and share the Gospel with their friends and family. It makes my heart sing.
